Dr. Carolyn Pinnock Jackson
Paediatric Surgeon
Dr. Carolyn Pinnock Jackson broke new ground in 2003, becoming one of the Caribbean's first female locally-trained surgeons and the first woman to hold a Paediatric Surgical Specialist degree from the University of the West Indies. She practiced at the Bustamante Hospital for Children for more than ten years before establishing her own private practice.
To meet the evolving needs of paediatric emergency care in the region, Dr. Jackson completed SAFE (Sexual Assault Forensic Examination) training in Daytona Beach, Florida. She has also trained in Pastoral Counseling at St. Michael's Theological College in Kingston, reflecting her belief in the importance of mental health support for children and families in every circumstance.
Dr. Jackson has pursued additional specialized training throughout her career, including:
Laparoscopic ("key-hole") Surgery — studied in Leeds, England, and now practiced in Jamaica
Allergy Management — studied in Texas, USA
Endoscopy (Gastroscopy) and Colonoscopy — studied in California, USA
She currently sees patients in Kingston, Jamaica and St Michael, Barbados, and is glad to serve families from across the Caribbean region.
